About this product

Stop water leaks before they start. Mapeband PE 120 is a flexible, water- and vapour-proof rubber tape designed to reinforce waterproofing in corners, joints, and around penetrations—perfect for use with liquid-applied membranes like Mapegum WPS in wet rooms and showers.

Why Choose Mapeband PE 120?

  • Water & Vapour Proof: Polyester mesh and rubber fabric construction provides a reliable barrier against moisture.

  • Flexible & Durable: Remains elastic and deformable, accommodating movement without cracking.

  • Easy to Install: Pre-shaped corners, seals, and omega-profile options ensure a perfect fit in complex areas.

  • Compatible with Mapegum WPS: Designed to be embedded into fresh waterproofing membrane for a seamless, integrated system.

  • Low VOC Emission: Rated ECI Plus for very low emissions, suitable for indoor use.

Ideal For:

  • Waterproofing internal and external corners in showers, bathrooms, and wet rooms

  • Sealing pipe penetrations, drains, and ductwork

  • Creating flexible seals in expansion joints on terraces and balconies

  • Use with Mapegum WPS and other MAPEI liquid waterproofing membranes

How to Use:

  1. Apply a ≥1 mm layer of Mapegum WPS to the joint or corner.

  2. Press the fabric side of Mapeband PE 120 into the fresh membrane using a smooth trowel.

  3. Ensure the membrane fully wets both sides of the tape.

  4. For movement joints, form an omega (Ω) shape to allow flexibility.

  5. Seal joints between tape sections with a solvent-based PVC adhesive.
